R+P Post 8: Possible tracks for the single

"W.A.Y.S" - Jhene Aiko

When listening to this song, I feel like it's video should replicate its message in a symbolic way and so would most likely be a concept/ performance video. The GIF of the contemporary dancing below illustrates how I would like for there to be a lyrical dance choreography, which portrays 'a journey' through symbolic dance moves, with two people (male and female) who would be unrelated to the artist in mind during the video. This dance would take place in a studio while the artist herself would be walking through fields singing. Not only is the song of the alternative RnB music genre and so has a place in the UK market, but it has a message that relates to all types of audiences and age groups.

"Right Hand" - Drake

The song has a really catchy beat which is danceable, so it inspires me to create a primarily performance music video that tells the story of the sexual chemistry between a guy and girl who've just met at a bar. In the song the guy talks about how he thinks he's in love with that girl. So throughout the dance there will be demonstrations of romantic scenes between them at the club as the male artist is rapping. This song is a mixture of pop and RnB rap so should do well within the UK singles chart, since that is dominated with pop songs. However this song would do well more with the younger generations as my research found that they are more into rap, rather than adults.

"Hero"- Family of the Year

According to my research, although not very popular when it comes to singles, Indie rock in the UK does sell very well when it comes to albums. This song is indie rock and I really love the connotations it has of a guy trying to break up with a girl juxtaposed with the sweet romantic atmosphere of the music. Exampled by the GIF's below I thought, for this kind of song, a mainly narrative but performance video would suit it. The narrative would show the artist in a romantic relationship but the slow movement of the camera would connote that these are just his memories, while cuts to CU's of his face solemn and mysterious would show his sadness in wanting to leave.
